Back in 2018, Planisware’s infrastructure was spread across four different sites in Europe and the United States.

By 2026, the company had expanded to 16 sites worldwide, from the United States to Asia.

What happened? Planisware decided to get closer to its customers and improve accessibility—and that’s when the IT Lumberjacks stepped in!

Back on a Technical Odyssey

The goal was clear: extend the Planisware international backbone.
But first things first: before jumping on a plane, the IT Lumberjacks needed a plan of action.

Deploying sites is a good start—but you also need to make sure the transit infrastructure keeps up, and that the sites and interconnection links run smoothly.
For Mountain Men, the first step is a procurement process and call for tenders to select the right equipment—switches, routers, firewalls—and choose the right international providers. But it’s also about defining the interconnection points.

So, what are we going to do? An audit!
We assess your needs and constraints and, as good IT Lumberjacks, we draw up a plan by iteration and tackle it step by step.

But don’t worry! The IT Lumberjacks get everything in order—and, most importantly, keep the unpredictable under control.

Anyone who has never had to deal with a Canadian customs agent, let them cast the first stone. What an adventure it is to ship equipment overseas! Coordinating schedules, providers, deadlines (always!), but also different teams, visas, and… plane tickets!
Because if you want to deploy, you actually have to go there!

Let’s go on a round-the-world trip to New York, Phoenix, Geneva, Zurich, Singapore, Montreal, Toronto, Sydney, Melbourne… Yes, the IT Lumberjack is ready for any terrain—and ready to go global.

Even when it means tasting poutine or getting up close and personal with the Australian wildlife.
And always working closely with the Planisware teams.
The equipment is delivered and in place. That’s a good step.
The equipment is delivered and in place. That’s a good step. Now it’s time to manage it remotely. The IT Lumberjack is naturally cautious and doesn’t leave his chalet without a good reason. So he built an Out-of-Band management solution for exactly this purpose. Even when everything is on fire, we keep the situation under control.

Every site is deployed and connected, but the job isn’t over for the IT Lumberjack. We don’t leave a log half-chopped. In collaboration with the Planisware team, we maintain, monitor, and fix things when necessary.
The final polish: routing optimization through peering management, making sure this beautiful backbone runs smoothly.
It’s clear. It’s beautiful. The routers are purring.
A technical challenge, just the way the IT Lumberjacks like it.
